The Jiangsu Semiconductor Industry Association ("Provincial Association") was registered and established in January 1989 at the Civil Affairs Department of Jiangsu Province. It is the country's first non-profit semiconductor integrated circuit professional association. Member units are mainly engaged in semiconductor research, education, design, wafer manufacturing, packaging, testing, equipment and instruments, tooling and molds, special materials and industrial services. The provincial associations closely centered on the purpose of "serving the government, serving enterprises, and serving the industry", and carried out various business activities fruitfully, and were widely praised by government departments, member units and the industry. In 2011, the association was awarded the title of "Five-star Industry Association" by Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission.
